I saw this little table at My Hidden Resource and immediately had to snag it! It was a true bargain at $10. It's sturdy and has simple lines.
Here it is after several coats of high gloss white. Happiness really is high gloss white paint.
The top is Dewberry under glass....
This gem is going in Lovey's Manland. It is painted a deep chocolate brown. I think the white is going to be a great contrast. It is the perfect place for a cold drink and a remote or four. In room photos coming soon.

Craigslist Love
And a bounty of love it is today!
First up!
Five of these chairs for $20. That's a steal! These I see in a high gloss black finish with Mod Green Pod's Bloom:
Maybe around an Ikea Dockstka table
Next up:
This Broyhill Dining Room Set
Love the clean lines. See the rest of the pieces by clicking on the link above.
I am really feeling these chairs.
$50 each. 4 available.
I wish I could see this whole set-up. And I wish I had room for it!!!
Sigh...if only I had a real office.
Wicker loveseat and cushion....
This? Oh, yeah...this....should be a bright kelly green or maybe a bright orange....or a canary yellow....NO! A turquoise or a chartreuse with a poppy cushion. Hmmmm......let me see......here!
There was one other chair I saw, but I don't want to post it....because I want it! And it's only $5! Sigh....it's probably already gone....but if it's not...stay tuned...

Craigslist Love
I found this last week on Craigslist.
I love that someone painted a traditional piece this bright color. I don't think I'd change a thing about it. Maybe the hardware. See the rest of the pictures here.

Parsons Chair
I have been dragging this Parsons chair around with me since I moved from Columbia - about 10 years ago. It was in one of my offices before it was redecorated.
I'm sure there was a point in history :cough: 80s :cough: that this seafoam and mauve material was really rockin'. I'm sure that someone scoured fabric shops the way I do today looking for the *ideal* print for these chairs.
Here's my after:
Back detail:
Side detail:
"Skirt" detail:
I didn't originally purchase this fabric for this particular chair. It was actually intended for Old Ugly. When I got started measuring for my pattern, I realized I didn't have enough fabric to cover the legs. Geez.... Plan B consisted of me taking the fabric and batting from the legs and painting them a quick coat of black. The legs are sort of rough (I'm sure the fabric was never meant to be removed). I didn't try to smooth them out. I kind of like them that way.
Anyway, I ended up fashioning a little skirt a little way down the leg to cover up the top of the legs. I'm proud of the way it turned out.
Today it lives in the green room. I use it as my desk chair. I can attest to its comfy-ness since I've been sitting in it for a few hours doing real-life work.

Project Time!
In addition to my day job, I have several projects going on here at the Manse.
There's Old Ugly:
Here he is midway through his rehab. The ugly upholstery has been removed from the back (who put a cushion over that sweet cane back anyway?). His right arm has been glued back into place. He's only waiting for a decision on his frame paint and fabric.
A few weeks ago in the Marshalls Megastore, I found this:
LOVE! But not $50 worth.
Stumbled onto this at Target:
It's one of those wall decals that are so popular right now. The size is similar, and I'm going to make it a dead ringer! By the way, it was only $14.
This is an old brass (eww) candlestick I picked up at my closest Goodwill for a few bucks.
I'm not saying what I'm doing with it yet, but it will be amazing!
In addition to these, I hope to soon be the proud owner of two items I ran across today:
A Drexel campaign dresser for $40. They also had a small matching desk. I've seen some amazing transformations of these on various blogs. Now it's my turn.
I also saw Old Ugly's sister for $15.
Unfortunately, I didn't get a picture of the back of the chair. There are insets of upholstery on the back as well. If I can get her (fingers crossed!), I want to do the bottom and front back (stay with me) in one fabric and use a coordinating fabric on the back back (get it?).
They also had several builder's grade brass chandeliers for as low as $8. I'd love to paint one of those for my laundry room. More on it in a later post.
I leave you now with the cutest little nightlight ever.
Target, naturally.
